Rebwar Taha: The PUK and the People of Kirkuk Are Inseparable Twins

Today, Wednesday, 8 October 2025, a grand carnival was held in the Qarahanjir district, Kirkuk Governorate to mark the launch of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) election campaign for List No. (222) in the city. The event drew a large crowd of attendees.
During the carnival, Rebwar Taha, Leader of the PUK List No. (222) in Kirkuk, stressed that “the PUK and the people of Kirkuk are inseparable twins.” He urged citizens to “actively participate in the upcoming elections and vote for the PUK List No. (222),” describing it as “the strongest list in both Kurdistan and Iraq.”
In his address, Rebwar Taha highlighted that “the PUK has honoured all its previous commitments, particularly concerning the normalisation of the situation in Kirkuk,” noting that “the city is now witnessing successful governance based on genuine partnership among its components, which has helped to serve the community and strengthen stability.”
He went on to say that “this phase is different from the past. Previously, we used to demand and strive, but today we are implementing projects and fulfilling promises. We remember our martyrs, to whose blood and sacrifices we shall always remain faithful.”
Rebwar Taha called on the people of Kirkuk to “vote for the PUK List No. (222) in the elections scheduled for 11 November,” emphasising that “his aim is not personal, but for the benefit of all the people of Kirkuk and the continuation of an administration that truly serves its citizens.”
He further explained that “the list’s programme reflects the official policy of the PUK in governing the province,” expressing confidence in “the people’s support to continue the work and deliver further services.”
At the close of the carnival, the Leader of the PUK List in Kirkuk reaffirmed that “Kirkuk and the PUK are one inseparable entity,” expressing his conviction that “the will of the voters will make the PUK List the strongest in Kirkuk and Iraq.”
