Qubad Talabani: PUK Aims to Strengthen Its Position in Erbil

Qubad Talabani, a member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Head of the Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal, affirmed that through the upcoming elections, the PUK aims to strengthen its position in the Erbil governorate.

Speaking at a meeting of the PUK Election Committee in Erbil on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, Qubad Talabani urged party members to show strong enthusiasm and commitment in order to build a solid base of Kurdish voters.
 
He further explained that the PUK has long sought to reap the rewards of its sustained efforts to find lasting solutions to the disputes between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, and to prevent the emergence of new problems and deep divisions.
