Kurdish Parties in Germany: President Mam Jalal Was an Influential Iraqi Politician

Nine Kurdish parties in Germany issued a joint statement for the anniversary of the passing of President Jalal Talabani (Mam Jalal), paying tribute to his historic role and lasting legacy.

The statement described President Mam Jalal as “an influential Iraqi politician and the pride of a nation,” noting that he dedicated his entire life to the liberation of Kurdistan and the defence of the Kurdish people.

The parties emphasised that Mam Jalal was a wise and visionary leader who played a Influential role in shaping the modern political landscape of Iraq and Kurdistan. They recalled his tireless efforts to secure the rights of the Kurdish people, describing him as “an unprecedented struggler and one of the great leaders of Kurdistan.”

The statement further highlighted his role in laying the foundations for a new phase of struggle in South Kurdistan following the new revolution, and his key contribution to the establishment of a federal Iraq, enshrining Kurdish rights in the Iraqi constitution.
