Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, has called on citizens to conduct their electoral campaigning peacefully, emphasising the importance of informed participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Speaking at a press conference during the opening of the 7th Sulaymaniyah International Book Fair, Talabani stated: “I urge that this campaign be carried out peacefully. People should understand why it is important to vote and why it is important to decide which party to vote for.”

He added: “I believe that if people make a conscientious assessment, they will recognise which forces are truly influential in Baghdad and which remain mere spectators.”

The electoral campaign for Iraq’s parliamentary elections, scheduled for 11 November 2025, officially commenced on Friday, 3 October 2025.
