PUK Political Bureau Reaffirms Commitment to Citizens’ Prosperity & Stability

The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) announced that the party's President reaffirmed that the lives, prosperity, and stability of the people are the party’s top priority, ahead of upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections.
Under the chairmanship of PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani, the party's Political Bureau convened on Sunday, 28 September 2025, in Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah. Following the meeting, the Bureau issued a statement outlining its priorities and positions on regional developments.
According to the statement, President Bafel emphasised during the meeting that the life, prosperity, and stability of citizens are the foremost priorities of the PUK.
The Bureau reviewed recent developments in the region, current political issues, and preparations for the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections. It also confirmed that the PUK is fully prepared to participate in the elections.
Furthermore, President Bafel and the Political Bureau reaffirmed that the PUK remains steadfast in placing the citizens of the Kurdistan Region at the centre of its work, with their lives and stability as the foremost priority in pursuit of wise governance across the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.”
