Kirkuk Prepares for November Elections as 252 Candidates Contest 12 Seats

A total of 252 candidates are vying for seats in Kirkuk Governorate in the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections, set for 11 November 2025.

Ali Abbas, media officer for the Kirkuk office of the Independent High Electoral Commission, told the press that the governorate has 1,229,740 registered voters, of whom 897,030 have updated their information and hold biometric cards. He confirmed that the commission has completed all technical and logistical preparations to ensure the elections run smoothly.

Abbas added that the candidate list comprises 179 men and 73 women, all competing for the 12 seats allocated to Kirkuk Governorate.
