Oil prices rose on Monday as geopolitical tensions in Europe and the Middle East reignited concerns over global supply risks.

Brent crude increased to around US $67.07 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) traded at approximately US $63.02 per barrel, according to market data.

The upward movement follows last week’s fluctuations, with analysts attributing today’s gains to heightened instability in Ukraine and renewed security alerts across the Baltics. These developments have offset bearish pressures from rising US stockpiles and continued uncertainty over global economic growth.

Traders say the geopolitical backdrop is likely to keep prices supported in the short term, even as demand forecasts remain cautious. Market participants are now awaiting fresh guidance from OPEC+ and upcoming US energy reports to assess the outlook for the final quarter of 2025.
