Kirkuk Governor Rebwar Taha's meeting with Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari.

Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari affirmed that Kirkuk enjoys full stability, with a notable decline in both crime and terrorist activity.

Minister Shammari arrived in Kirkuk on Sunday, 21 September 2025, where he was received by Governor Rebwar Taha, Mohammed Ibrahim Hafez, Chairman of Kirkuk's Provincial Council, along with deputy governors, assistants, and advisers.

At a joint press conference with Governor Rebwar Taha following the meeting, Shammari stated: “Kirkuk enjoys good stability, crime levels have decreased, terrorist acts have declined, and all measures are being implemented effectively and at a high level. There is no crime that remains unresolved.”

The Minister also highlighted the strong cooperation between the Kirkuk local administration and the Iraqi federal government, emphasising that “good work is being carried out in all parts of the province.”
