President Rashid Welcomes Newly Appointed Korean Ambassador to Iraq.
The President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, received the credentials of the Ambassadors of the Republic of Korea, Lee Joon-il, the Republic of Indonesia, Didik Eko Pujianto, and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mohammad Maqsudul Haq, on Wednesday, 17 September 2025, at Baghdad Palace.
In separate meetings with the new ambassadors, and in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, the President reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to fostering balanced relations that promote cooperation and genuine partnerships serving mutual interests. He underscored Iraq’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international peace and security, while wishing the ambassadors every success in their diplomatic missions.
For their part, the ambassadors expressed their appreciation to the President for his support in facilitating their work, and affirmed their countries’ desire to deepen friendly ties and enhance coordination on matters of shared concern.
