Kurdish Security Chiefs' meeting with Iraqi National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji.

Jalal Sheikh Naji, Head of the Parastin and Zanyari Agency / Zanyari Agency of the Kurdistan Region, held talks on Monday in Baghdad with Iraq’s National Security Advisor, Qasim al-Araji, to review the security situation and strengthen coordination between federal and regional security institutions.

The meeting, attended by Guhdar Amedi, Director of the Iraqi Presidential Office, and Hiwa Ahmed, Head of the Kurdistan Region Security Agency (Asayish), focused on the country's security developments. Both sides stressed the need to intensify collaboration between intelligence and security agencies in the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi federal government, particularly in border management, counter-smuggling measures, and counter-terrorism operations.

Discussions also addressed the implementation of the Iraq–Iran security agreement on border control, alongside broader issues relating to stability and national security. Officials agreed on a series of steps to ensure effective coordination and to advance collective efforts in safeguarding Iraq’s security environment.
