Iraqi President Highlights Responsibilities as Ambassadors Take Oath

The newly appointed Iraqi ambassadors were formally sworn in before His Excellency the President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, at Baghdad Palace, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein.
President Rashid congratulated the ambassadors on their approval by the Iraqi parliament, underlining that their appointments carry significant responsibility and represent a great trust in advancing Iraq’s interests on the international stage. He noted that the ambassadorial list had been carefully selected following the screening of hundreds of candidates, expressing his hope that they would serve in a manner befitting Iraq’s stature and strategic role in the region.
His Excellency also addressed the current situation in Iraq and the positive developments underway, highlighting that the country enjoys a measure of security and stability. He stressed the importance of presenting the image of a renewed Iraq to international audiences, enhancing and strengthening Iraq’s diplomatic relations across all sectors, and attracting major investment projects to operate within the country.
The ambassadors conveyed their gratitude for the confidence placed in them, pledging to uphold the national mission with dedication and to promote Iraq’s image and interests across various international platforms.
