PUK President Emphasises Cooperation to Tackle Challenges

PUK President Receives Parliamentary Delegation.
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Mohsen al-Mandalawi, First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi parliament, at Dabashan, Sulaymaniyah.
Al-Mandalawi offered his congratulations to President Bafel Jalal Talabani on his election as President of the Social Democratic Alliance in the Arab World. The meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in order to pursue joint action and unified efforts to resolve challenges, as well as to maintain coordination among all political forces to achieve stability in the country.
Discussions also addressed the current political situation in Iraq and the matter of salaries for employees in the Kurdistan Region. Both parties stressed the need to uphold the agreement reached between the Region and Baghdad.
President Bafel Jalal Talabani remarked: “The PUK supports any step or project that serves our dear citizens. Through cooperation and partnership, we can overcome challenges.”
For his part, the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi parliament affirmed his support for the success of all efforts and initiatives that contribute to the establishment of the rule of law and the safeguarding of the security and stability of the citizens of Sulaymaniyah.
