PUK President Meets Russian CG to Discuss Political Developments

PUK President and Russian CG meet in Sulaymaniyah.

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Maxim Rubin, the Russian Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, at the PUK Political Bureau headquarters in Sulaymaniyah.

The meeting, also attended by Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Head of the PUK Relations Bureau, focused on recent political developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the wider Middle East.

President Bafel Jalal Talabani highlighted ongoing discussions between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, stressing: “We are working to ensure all parties remain committed to the signed agreement so that the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees are delivered without issue.”

The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in Syria and western Kurdistan, agreeing on the importance of the Syrian government representing all communities of the country.
