Car Bomb Explodes Near Hotel in Damascus, No Casualties Reported

A bomb planted inside an old vehicle detonated near a hotel in Damascus on Saturday, 16 August 2025, though no casualties have been reported.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), “A violent explosion rocked the Mezzeh district. It was later determined that the explosion occurred when a car parked near the Golden Hotel in the Mezzeh neighbourhood of Damascus exploded. Ambulances rushed to the scene, but there are no reports of casualties or material damage yet.”

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and no group has so far claimed responsibility.
