Oil prices rose on Friday, 15 August 2025, as geopolitical concerns buoyed market sentiment ahead of a high-profile meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Brent crude increased to around $67 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) traded close to $64.10. The gains, which took both benchmarks to their highest levels in a week, were driven by fears of potential supply disruptions and renewed investor confidence.

U.S. crude recorded a notable 2.1% rise to $63.96, according to market reports. Analysts observed that although OPEC+ has been steadily raising production, immediate attention is fixed on the summit’s potential impact on global oil trade and sanctions policy.

The oil market is expected to remain volatile in the days ahead as traders await any developments from the talks and track supply figures from major producers.
