Oil prices remained largely unchanged on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, as traders weighed an unexpected increase in U.S. crude stocks against cautious market sentiment ahead of key economic and political developments.

Brent crude was trading at around $66.15 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) stood at $63.14. The American Petroleum Institute reported a surprise build of 1.52 million barrels in U.S. crude inventories for the week ending 8 August, pressuring prices.

Markets are awaiting official U.S. Energy Information Administration data and monitoring geopolitical talks between U.S. and Russian leaders, both of which could influence supply outlooks. The EIA forecasts Brent prices to average below $60 in late 2025, while OPEC remains more optimistic on future demand.
