Kurdistan VP Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa's meeting with Tukish CG Erman Top.

Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received on Monday, 28 July 2025, Erman Topçu, the Turkish Consul General in the Region.

The two officials discussed bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Türkiye, the latest political developments in Iraq and the wider region, as well as the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections. They also addressed inter-party relations and underscored the importance of safeguarding security and stability across the region.

The discussions extended to the peace process aimed at resolving the Kurdish issue and bringing an end to the ongoing conflict between the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and Türkiye.

In addition, they reviewed relations between Erbil and Baghdad and the outstanding issues between both sides. Both parties stressed the importance of resolving such matters within the framework of the Iraqi Constitution.
