Health Iraq

The Federal Ministry of Health has confirmed two new deaths and 16 additional cases of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF), bringing the total number of infections to 231 across Iraq.

Ministry spokesperson Saif al-Badr stated that the latest fatalities occurred in the provinces of Dhi Qar and Wasit, raising the nationwide death toll to 30.

Health authorities are closely monitoring the spread of the virus, which is primarily transmitted through tick bites or contact with the blood of infected animals, particularly during livestock slaughter. The public is urged to take precautionary measures, especially in rural and high-risk areas.
