IHEC Sets Date for Party and Coalitions' Number Draw

Iraq’s Independent High Election Commission (IHEC) announced that the draw to assign numbers to parties, coalitions, and independent candidates will take place on 5 August 2025. 

Jumana al-Ghalai, IHEC spokesperson, confirmed the deadline to PUKMEDIA, noting that preparations are ongoing.

"As of now, a total of 7,926 candidates have registered for the parliamentary elections scheduled for 11 November 2025, comprising 5,701 men and 2,225 women," she said.

Approximately 21.4 million voters are eligible to cast their ballots to elect 329 representatives to the Iraqi parliament.

The elections will be conducted across more than 8,700 polling centres and over 40,000 polling stations nationwide. IHEC has confirmed its readiness to oversee free, fair, and transparent elections in accordance with international standards.
