Khurmala Oil Field Targeted by Drone Strikes; No Casualties Reported

Two drones targeted the Khurmala oil field in Erbil province on the evening of Monday, 14 July 2025. The Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Natural Resources confirmed that the attacks caused no casualties but resulted in damage to the station’s water pipelines.
In an official statement, the Ministry said: "On Monday evening (14 July 2025), at 8:20 pm and 8:25 pm, two bomb-laden drones attacked the Khurmala oil field in Erbil province."
The Ministry added that while the attack damaged the water infrastructure at the facility, no personnel were harmed.
“We condemn such attacks on the economic infrastructure of the Kurdistan Region,” the statement continued.
Separately, Iraq’s Security Media Cell also issued a statement regarding the incident, confirming:
“Two unidentified drones attacked the Khurmala oil field in the Makhmur district of Erbil province.”
The Cell further noted that coordination is ongoing with the Kurdistan Region’s security and intelligence agencies to investigate the nature and perpetrators of the attack, describing it as a “hostile act.”
