Kurdish Icon Leyla Zana Pays Tribute to President Mam Jalal

Renowned Kurdish politician and prominent symbol of the Kurdish struggle, Leyla Zana, visited the mausoleum of President Mam Jalal on Saturday, 12 July 2025. She was warmly received by the Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal.

Following the laying of a bouquet of flowers at the late president’s grave, Ms Zana paid a respectful and heartfelt tribute to his enduring legacy. She commended President Mam Jalal’s pivotal role in the Kurdish liberation movement and the broader national struggle, particularly in advancing the peace process in Türkiye.

"Today, in his spiritual presence, we proudly recall his historic contributions. We remain committed to following in his footsteps to ensure the success of the peace process and to promote brotherhood among nations—especially Kurds, Turks, and Arabs," she said.
