PUK Bloc Condemns Attacks on Sulaymaniyah and Kirkuk, Calls for Urgent Investigation
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) bloc in the Iraqi parliament has strongly condemned the recent attacks on Sulaymaniyah and Kirkuk provinces, urging the formation of an investigative committee to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
In a statement received by PUKMEDIA, the bloc strongly condemned the criminal act involving two drones, which were intercepted and destroyed by the 70th Forces Command, with the debris falling in the Tasluja area of Sulaymaniyah province.
The statement stressed that such acts represent a clear violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and the airspace of the Kurdistan Region, posing a serious threat to regional security and the safety of civilians.
It further noted: “Kirkuk province was also targeted a day earlier. In light of these developments, we call on the Federal Prime Minister to urgently establish an investigative committee to determine the facts and identify the sources of the missile and drone attacks.”
