Oil prices dipped slightly on Thursday, 20 June 2025, as markets responded to signals from the White House suggesting that US President Donald Trump will delay making a final decision on whether to involve the United States in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

Brent crude futures slipped to approximately $77.10 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) traded around $75.70, pulling back from earlier highs driven by escalating tensions in the Middle East. Despite the modest decline, Brent remains up nearly 20% in June, heading for its strongest monthly gain since 2020.

Analysts note that uncertainty surrounding potential US military involvement has heightened market volatility. Although the threat of a wider regional escalation initially drove prices upward, President Trump’s recent emphasis on diplomacy has helped ease immediate concerns.

Traders are now closely watching geopolitical developments, along with potential moves from OPEC+, as the end of the month approaches.
