Iraqi PM to Iranian President: Iraq is Keen to Prevent War From Expanding

In a phone call with the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to preventing the escalation of Iran's war with Israel. He also expressed Iraq’s readiness to provide all necessary support in response to the recent attacks against Iran.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s media office, Prime Minister Sudani spoke with the Iranian President on Sunday.

During the call, Sudani said that Iraq is keen on prevent the war from expanding, noting that the government is working actively on multiple fronts to stop Israeli violations of Iraqi airspace. 

He reiterated Iraq’s concern over the widening of hostilities and affirmed its readiness to assist Iran in addressing the consequences of recent attacks.
