Iraqi President & First Lady Head to France for UNOC3

Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid, accompanied by First Lady Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, will depart tomorrow, 8 June 2025, for France to attend the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3), taking place in Nice from 9 to 13 June 2025. The conference is co-hosted by France and Costa Rica.

The President will be joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, as well as a delegation of senior officials and advisors.

Iraq’s participation reaffirms its commitment to international environmental cooperation and highlights the country’s initiatives aimed at protecting marine biodiversity and promoting the sustainable management of natural resources.
