PUK Seeks Recognition of Halabja Genocide by Swiss Parliament

As part of its commitment to serving the people of Kurdistan, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has presented a bill to the Swiss Parliament calling for the recognition of the Halabja Genocide.

Salar Sarhad, a member of the PUK Leadership Council, told PUKMEDIA: “The PUK, as a member of the Socialist International, has tabled a bill in the Swiss Parliament to recognise the Halabja massacre as a genocide against the Kurdish people, following the precedent set by the parliaments of the United Kingdom, Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden.”

A delegation from the PUK is currently visiting Switzerland upon an official invitation to attend meetings of the parliamentary committees addressing the Kurdish issue in the Middle East.
