PUK President Congratulates and Pledges Support to Pervin Buldan

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), extended his congratulations to Pervin Buldan, Member of Parliament for the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) in Türkiye, on her appointment as Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament.
In his message, he reaffirmed the PUK’s backing for the success of her new role and the peace process in Northern Kurdistan and Türkiye.
Below is the text of the message:
Dear Ms Pervin Buldan,
I warmly congratulate you on being appointed Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament.
I hope that your experience and expertise will serve as a vital and constructive force in advancing the peace process in Northern Kurdistan and Türkiye. President Mam Jalal was among the first leaders to lay the foundations for peace, and today we reaffirm our support for you as you carry this historic step forward.
As always, the PUK has placed strong emphasis on a policy of mutual understanding and goodwill among all parties.

PUK VP Sends Congratulations to Pervin Buldan on New Parliamentary Role
Rafaat Abdullah, Vice President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), extended his congratulations to Pervin Buldan on the occasion of her appointment as Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament.
In his message, he stated: “I warmly congratulate you on your appointment as Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament and wish you every success in this important and distinguished role.”
He continued: “I am confident that, with your extensive experience and proven capabilities, you will continue to work tirelessly to advance the peace process and promote harmony, mutual understanding, and solidarity.”
The Vice President added: “We are pleased to see that the historic efforts of the late President Mam Jalal have brought us closer to ending violence and achieving lasting peace. In the spirit of President Mam Jalal’s legacy, we will always stand with you and offer our unwavering support.”
KRG Deputy PM Congratulates Pervin Buldan
Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, extended his congratulations to Pervin Buldan, Member of Parliament for the Equality and Democracy of the Peoples Party (DEM Party) in Türkiye, following her appointment as Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament.
Buldan was selected on Monday, 2 June 2025, by the DEM Party to succeed the late Deputy Speaker, Sırrı Süreyya Önder.
In his congratulatory message, Deputy Prime Minister Talabani said: “I extend my warmest congratulations on your appointment as Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament.”
He continued: “We highly value your unwavering efforts as a political and parliamentary figure who has persistently worked to uphold the principles of democracy, brotherhood, and coexistence, and to promote peace and justice.”
Talabani concluded: “I wish you every success in your new role and am confident that you will continue to play a significant part in advancing the peace process and securing the rights of the Kurdish people in Türkiye.”
Iraqi First Lady Sends Warm Congratulations to Pervin Buldan
Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, the First Lady of Iraq, sent a congratulatory telegram to Ms Pervin Buldan on her appointment as Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament.
She emphasised that Ms Buldan’s leadership and dedication to fostering unity, justice, and peace are a great source of pride.
The Iraqi First Lady’s message is as follows:
I warmly congratulate Ms Pervin Buldan on her appointment as Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament.
Her leadership and tireless efforts to promote unity, justice, and peace are a source of pride.
I wish her continued success as she helps shape a future that includes all parts of the nation, particularly with regard to the ongoing peace process.
