Kurdish Student Wins Third Place in Global Huawei ICT Competition

A Kurdish student of the Garmian University won third Place in Global Huawei ICT Competition
Rasul Latif Abdulrahman, an outstanding student from Huawei Academy at Garmian University, has secured third place in the prestigious Huawei ICT Competition 2025, held in China. Representing Kurdistan, Iraq, and the wider Middle East, Latif's achievement marks a significant milestone for the region.
Competing in the Cloud Track category—which focused on Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Big Data—Latif undertook an intensive eight-hour practical examination. His team, composed of a fellow student from the University of Human Development and supervised by a professor from Koya University, stood out among 120 teams representing 40 countries.
The international competition took place from 20 to 24 May 2025. Latif, currently a fourth-year student in the Department of Computer Science, College of Science at Garmian University, demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication, contributing to the team’s success on a global stage.
