Kurdistan Region Governors Participate in Kurdistan–Iran Border Provinces’ Periodic Meeting

Governors of the Kurdistan Region's provinces arriving in Sanandaj.
The governors of the Kurdistan Region's provinces arrived in the Kurdish city of Sanandaj, located in Iran’s Kurdistan Province, on Tuesday, 20 May 2025, to take part in the periodic meeting of Kurdistan–Iran Border Provinces.
The Kurdistan Region's delegation includes Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; Haval Abubakir, Governor of Sulaymaniyah; Nuksha Naseeh, Governor of Halabja; and Ali Tatar, Governor of Duhok. They were accompanied by the presidents of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Duhok, and Halabja, as well as directors of border crossings.
The meeting, scheduled to commence on Tuesday afternoon in Sanandaj, aims to foster cross-border cooperation and enhance coordination between the Kurdistan Region and the border provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iranian provinces participating in the meeting include Urmia, Kermanshah, and Kurdistan Province.
