PUK Spokesperson, Saadi Ahmed Pire.
The Spokesperson for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has confirmed that discussions between the PUK and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) regarding the formation of the new government in the Kurdistan Region are progressing calmly, without tension, and are expected to yield positive outcomes.
Saadi Ahmed Pire, Spokesperson for the PUK, stated in a press briefing: “The joint committee formed by the PUK and the KDP is scheduled to meet in the coming days to deliberate on the distribution of government posts.”
He added, “Our negotiations over government formation are proceeding in a composed and tension-free manner. If this approach continues, it will lead to positive results, especially given that the current circumstances demand dialogue and mutual understanding — much like the election campaign and voting process, which went ahead smoothly and without major issues.”
Commenting on the Kurdish issue at the regional level, Pire remarked: “The Kurdish issue has gained significant international attention and support. It is now essential for the Kurdistan Region to play a constructive role by establishing a strong parliament and government capable of facing the challenges and threats to the peace process in all parts of Kurdistan.”
