Oil prices climbed on 12 May 2025, with both key benchmarks recording notable increases. WTI Crude rose by $1.68, reaching $62.71 per barrel, while Brent Crude gained $1.67, settling at $65.58 per barrel. This represents a 2.75% rise for WTI and a 2.61% increase for Brent.

The surge in prices is driven by growing optimism in the markets, following productive trade talks between the United States and China. Investors are hopeful that the ongoing trade agreement between the world’s two largest oil consumers will boost global demand and help stabilise the market.

With these positive developments, oil prices are expected to maintain an upward trend, bringing a sense of relief to both producers and investors.
