Oil prices rose today following renewed optimism surrounding potential trade talks between the United States and China. Brent Crude increased by $0.49 to reach $62.62 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) climbed by $0.50 to $59.74.

The market reacted positively to China’s signal that it is open to resuming discussions with the U.S., easing concerns over weakening global demand. Prices were also buoyed by recent U.S. sanctions targeting purchasers of Iranian oil, adding to geopolitical uncertainty.

Nevertheless, the outlook remains uncertain, with traders closely monitoring economic indicators and the upcoming OPEC+ meeting on 5 May.
