Deputy PM Meets Iranian CG to Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani held a meeting with Faramarz Asadi, the newly appointed Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil, during which they discussed the bilateral relations between the two nations.

At the outset of the meeting, held on Tuesday, 22 April 2025, he extended his congratulations to the new Iranian CG on his appointment and wished him success in his new role.

The meeting focused on ways to strengthen relations between the two parties. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister, highlighting the long-standing ties between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasised the Region’s desire to enhance relations with Iran, particularly in the area of trade. Both sides agreed on the importance of collaborative efforts to further facilitate business exchanges between both sides.
