Kurdish Unity Conference to Be Held in Rojava

Kurdish political parties in Rojava (northeast Syria) are set to convene an intra-Kurdish conference on Saturday, 26 April 2025, the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday, 22 April 2025.

“We are pleased to inform our people that the conference entitled ‘Unity of Kurdish Position in Rojava’ will take place on 26 April,” SDF Commander Mazloum Abdi stated on X. “Achieving Kurdish unity is a national imperative for advancing the Kurdish cause in Syria.”

He added, “We call on all parties to fulfill their national responsibilities. On this occasion, we extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed to making this step possible and wish the conference every success in its endeavors.”

In response, the Rojava parties welcomed the conference and hoped it would be the starting point for a new phase of cooperation between Kurdish political parties.
