Iraqi President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid received Irfan Siddiq, Ambassador of the United Kingdom (UK) to Iraq, and Rosy Cave, Deputy Head of Mission, at the Presidential Palace in Baghdad, marking the conclusion of Ms. Cave’s diplomatic tenure in the country, the Iraqi Presidency reported on Monday, 21 April 2025.

According to a statement by the Iraqi Presidency, President Rashid underscored the importance of strengthening Iraq’s strategic partnership with the UK. 

“Enhancing the relationship between Iraq and the United Kingdom remains a priority,” the Presidency quoted him as saying, while also emphasising the need to expand avenues for cooperation and maintain close coordination on shared interests.

The statement added that Ambassador Siddiq commended the positive development of Iraq–UK relations and reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s steadfast commitment to furthering collaboration across multiple sectors, in line with the common goals of both countries.
