Kurdistan Asayish Seizes Large Quantity of Narcotics in Two Operations

The Kurdistan Region Security (Asayish) Agency has announced the confiscation of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs during two separate operations.

In a statement received by PUKMEDIA, the Asayish reported that on 13 April 2025, the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics, in coordination with the General Directorate for Operations, seized 10 kilograms of crystal meth in a border area of Hawraman.

The statement further noted that a second operation was carried out on 14 April 2025, during a raid on King Mahmoud Street in Sulaymaniyah, resulting in the arrest of two suspected drug traffickers and the seizure of 10 kilograms of hashish.

The suspects are currently being held under Article 25 of the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law, and investigations remain ongoing.
