Deputy PM Expresses Optimism Over Government Formation Talks

Deputy PM’s meeting with Turkish CG.

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, met with Erman Topçu, the Turkish Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.

During their meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the peace process in Türkiye. Qubad Talabani reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s support for the success of this process and expressed its readiness to undertake any responsibilities entrusted to it.

The two also exchanged views on the wider regional situation. The Deputy PM underlined the importance of resolving issues through dialogue and mutual understanding, emphasising the need to safeguard security and stability.

Regarding efforts to form the new government, Deputy PM remarked: “Talks are progressing well and positively. We hope that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party will soon reach an agreement to establish a strong, effective, and unified government.”
