Prime Minister Approves Exhumation of Mass Graves from Anfal Campaigns

A member of parliament from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) bloc confirmed that the federal Prime Minister has agreed to exhume the mass graves of victims of the Anfal campaigns.

MP Srwa Mohammed, representing the PUK bloc, told PUKMEDIA that during their meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, they presented an official request to exhume the remaining mass graves, particularly those located in the desert of Muthanna Governorate, especially in the city of Samawah.

She added that the Prime Minister kindly agreed to their request and instructed that the letter be sent to the Federal Martyrs Foundation to carry out the request and prepare for the exhumation of the remaining mass graves of victims of the Anfal campaigns and the genocidal atrocities committed against the people of Kurdistan.
