The Kurdistan Commando Forces have announced the successful destruction of terrorist hideouts and sleeper cells during a large-scale operation conducted with the support of coalition forces. Several communication devices and documents containing vital intelligence were also seized during the mission.
In a statement to PUKMEDIA, the Commando Forces Command explained that, based on precise intelligence and in coordination with a coalition team, forces launched a raid at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday in the Duraji Heights area, located within the Garmian region. The operation led to the destruction of multiple tunnels and hideouts used by terrorists for shelter, food storage, and as temporary prisons. One such hideout was reportedly detonated.
Due to the area’s challenging terrain and the absence of accessible roads, bulldozers were employed to clear a route, allowing the forces to reach their targets. Coalition aircraft provided aerial surveillance throughout the operation.
The statement added that a number of communication devices and key documents were recovered from inside one of the tunnels, providing important intelligence. The mission was deemed a success, with all terrorist infrastructure in the area fully dismantled and no trace remaining.
