The Iraqi parliament is meeting to discuss the Popular Mobilisation Forces (Hashd Al-Shaabi) Bill, which previously caused the disruption of parliamentary sessions.

The scheduled meeting of the Iraqi parliament is set for Monday, 24 March 2025.

The parliament's agenda states that a number of bills would be read aloud during the session, followed by a vote on another bill.

One of the bills that will be read for the first time is the 18-article bill on the service and pension of the Popular Mobilisation Forces. Because the Shiite parties were unable to agree, the bill disrupted the parliament's operations.

The leaders of the ruling Coordination Framework are divided on the Popular Mobilisation Forces service and pension bill; some support its early passage, while others have criticisms because the bill calls for the retirement of 4,000 Popular Mobilisation Forces officers and commanders.
