Saadi Ahmed Pire, Member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), emphasised the need for unity among Kurds in Rojava (Northeastern Syria).
Pire received Ahmed Suleiman, Deputy Secretary of the Kurdish Progressive Party in Syria, and Ali Shamdin, Member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdish Progressive Party in Syria. PUK Politburo member Stran Abdulla was also present at the meeting.
They discussed the situation in Syria in general and Rojava (Northeastern Syria) in particular after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.
Pire emphasised the importance of solidarity and unity with the Kurds in Rojava during this delicate time. He also saw the agreement between the Syrian Democratic Party and the interim Syrian president as a significant step towards establishing a Kurdish position in Syria, since this is the first time the Kurds have had the chance to be recognised as a nation in Syria.
Then, praising the PUK leadership's unwavering stances towards the Rojava Kurds and the Kurdish Progressive Party in Syria, Suleiman highlighted his party's efforts to bring all parties and ethnic communities in Rojava together and stated that his party is carrying on the late Hamid Darwish's policies to address the Kurdish issue in Rojava.
Both sides emphasised the need to consolidate peace and stability to resolve regional issues so that all nations and communities freely exercise their rights and no external parties interfere in the changes.
