Head of the PUK Media Board Latif Nerwayi and KDPS Deputy Secretary Ahmed Suleiman.
On Saturday, 15 March 2025, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan's (PUK) Media Board hosted a panel discussion about Syria's political and security situation.
Ahmed Suleiman, Deputy Secretary of the Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party in Syria, chaired the panel discussion, which was attended by Latif Nerweyi, the head of the Media Board, a number of PUK media cadres, a select group of intellectuals, university lecturers, and Kurdish political representatives.
The KDPS Deputy Secretary discussed the political situation in West Kurdistan (Northeastern Syria) following the fall of Bashar al-Assad, explaining the events that led up to the agreement signed by Ahmed al-Sharaa and Mazloum Abdi, as well as the issuance of the Interim Constitutional Declaration.
He stressed the significance of achieving a unified Kurdish stance and building a common delegation that does not exclude any Kurdish party, emphasising the party's position and responsibility in this context.
Suleiman complimented the KDPS and PUK's historic bilateral connections, urging for sustained support and cooperation. He also emphasised the need of implementing President Mam Jalal's Kurdish policy, as well as the role of the PUK, led by President Bafel Jalal Talabani, in unifying the Kurdish position in Syria. He also expressed his gratitude to the Media Board team and its leader for planning and preparing this special panel.
