Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, laid the foundation stone of the Tangi Sayed Mohammed Bridge Project in Halabja province.

The ceremony began with a moment of silence for the souls of the martyrs and then Dana Abdulkarim, Minister of Housing and Reconstruction of the Kurdistan Region, delivered a speech and said: "Tomorrow marks the anniversary of the chemical attack on Halabja. I pay tribute to the martyrs and wish to be of greater service to the citizens of this city of sacrifice."

"The citizens of Halabja have demanded this project, which gives them another avenue. With this financial situation, I hope we can serve more Halabja," he added.

The Tangi Sayed Mohammed Bridge Project spans the Sirwan River and links the Garmian region with the Halabja governorate. The bridge will be 690 meters long and take 900 days to build, with a total cost of over 26 billion dollars.

The Deputy PM also visited the Halabja Silo Project and followed up on the progress of the project. The foundation stone of the Halabja Silo was laid in 2024 and will be completed within two years.
