Deputy PM Qubad Talabani.
Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, welcomed Abdullah Ocalan's call for peace, stating that Ocalan has once again opened the door to peace and a peaceful and democratic solution to the Kurdish issue in Türkiye.
Deputy PM Talabani's message read:
Kurds have always been peaceful people, and Kurdish movements have resorted to arms as a last choice to ensure their survival and defend their fundamental rights.
Today, Mr. Abdullah Ocalan once again opened the door to peace and a peaceful and democratic solution to the Kurdish issue in Türkiye and announced the beginning of a new phase of political struggle for the Kurds in Türkiye. We hope and are optimistic that this time the process will result in a positive outcome for both the Kurdish and Turkish peoples, and that they will work together to provide the groundwork for genuine coexistence.
It is our collective responsibility to welcome Mr. Ocalan's message and to offer any assistance and support necessary to ensure the process's success.
