Deputy PM: We Will Support Our Brothers in West Kurdistan

Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, received on Tuesday, 25 February 2025, Sheikh Murshid al-Khaznawi and reaffirmed support for West Kurdistan (Northeast of Syria or Rojava), pledging to not come short in efforts to unite the Kurds.

Deputy PM Talabani said in a post on Facebook: "Sheikh Murshid al-Khaznavi and his father, Sheikh Mashouq al-Khaznavi, are two devoted and beloved religious and national icons in West Kurdistan. Sheikh Mashouq was martyred for his nation, and his son, Sheikh Murshid, is currently carrying on his legacy."

He further stated: "I was delighted to see Sheikh Murshid today. His endeavours to promote Kurdish unity are commendable and everyone should listen to and support him."

"We will do everything possible to support our brothers in West Kurdistan and will not hesitate in pursuing efforts for Kurdish unity and solidarity," he reaffirmed.
