The preparatory conferences for the 2nd Forum of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) is scheduled to take place in Erbil province this week, while the head of the forum's secretariat confirmed that the forum will take the PUK to a new stage with a new view and policy.

The preparatory conferences forum 2nd PUK Forum were previously held in Nineveh and Duhok, with each conference lasting for 3 days.

Fahmi Burhan, Head of the Secretariat of the 2nd PUK Forum, told PUKMEDIA that the 3rd preparatory conference for the PUK forum will be held in Koya town and Erbil city of Erbil province on Wednesday and Thursday.

"We will try to hold serious discussions in the conferences to further strengthen the PUK," he said.

"The forum aims to reformulate and discuss a new vision for the party, as well as to prepare and adapt with the new phase of political life and governance in the Kurdistan Region," he said.

The PUK Forum, which will be held under the slogan "A new vision, with strength, progress, and services," consists of smaller preparatory conferences, during which intensive debates and dialogues will be held to prepare for the themes to be deliberated upon during the broader forum.

The 2nd Forum aims to prepare for a new stage of political life and governance in the Kurdistan Region.

The forum is an attempt to boost the PUK's standing as a significant and influential party in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, the region, and around the world. It is also an endeavour to adapt to the various changes that are occurring.

The 1st PUK Forum was launched on 12 March 2022 under the supervision of Qubad Talabani and concluded on 31 May 2022. It played a key role in shaping the party’s policies across various sectors and became a cornerstone of the PUK’s broader strategy.
