Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received a delegation led by Pervin Buldan and Sirri Sureyya Onder.

During the meeting, which was attended by Qubad Talabani, a member of the PUK Political Bureau, the Imrali delegation conveyed Mr. Abdullah Ocalan's greetings and messages to President Bafel Jalal Talabani, as well as explaining their decisions, policies, and options regarding regional political developments. They also discussed Türkiye's peace process and their talks with Abdullah Ocalan.

In return, President Bafel warmly welcomed them and frankly expressed his views and strategy on the new phase of peace in Türkiye.

"We support any initiative that preserves our people's rights in Türkiye, and the PUK will contribute to this historic effort, which President Mam Jalal laid the groundwork for in 1993," he said.

The PUK President further reiterated that the region will not see peace and stability until the Kurdish issue is settled.

In that context, he said: "As we previously said; The Kurdish issue will not be settled through weapons and war because the only one option is returning to serious dialogue. We hope that we can all work together to make this historic chance a success through partnership, brotherhood, and a dedication to achieving peace and security."

"We believe in brotherhood and peaceful coexistence, and will never be a threat to any neighboring country and we are eager for all of us to live in brotherhood and peace, President Bafel emphasised.

He said: "Today, we will take the initiative to ensure that dialogue dominates over threats, and we will extend a hand of brotherhood to everyone. We hope for a sincere desire to enhance Kurdish-Turkish brotherhood, as well as the success of this national effort."
