Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Member of the Political Bureau and Head of the Relations Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Maxim Rubin, Consul General of Russia in the Kurdistan Region, on Monday, 17 February 2025.

The two side's discussion revolved around the situation in the Middle East and Syria. Rasul emphasised that the Kurds, as a significant community in Syria, must participate in drafting Syria's new political system, and that all nationalities' rights must be preserved.

Regarding the formation of the new Kurdistan Regional Government cabinet, he stated that the PUK is continuing its efforts to form an effective and fair government based on genuine participation in order to defend citizens' rights and regional stability.
