The Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) held a meeting on Saturday, 8 February 2025, in Sulaymaniyah, and the PUK Leadership Council is scheduled to meet in the coming days to discuss a number of important issues.
PUK Spokesperson Saadi Ahmed Pire told PUKMEDIA that the Political Bureau met under the supervision of PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani, pointing out that they talked about a number of political and organisational issues and topics that are crucial to the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, particularly President Bafel's trip abroad, the conclusions of the technical committee that was established to work with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) to determine the Region's powers, forming a new cabinet for the Kurdistan Regional Government, creating a draft proposal for defining the powers and working methods based on genuine partnership and partnership and removing existing shortcomings, and a number of other issues pertaining to resolving the Kurdish people's problems.
In addition, Pire disclosed that the PUK Leadership Council will convene in the next few days to thoroughly examine the matters brought up at the Political Bureau meeting.
