Martyrs Sherko Fatih Shwani and Hussein Mansour
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), issued a statement marking the tenth anniversary of the martyrdom of two heroic leaders, Major General Sherko Fatih Shwani and Major General Hussein Mansour.
The following is the full text of the message:
On the tenth anniversary of the martyrdom of the two distinguished and heroic leaders, Major General Sherko Fatih Shwani and Major General Hussein Mansour, along with their comrades, we bow in reverence and honour their memory, which will remain eternal.
Martyrs Sherko Fatih Shwani and Hussein Mansour were dedicated strugglers for the Kurdish people and the PUK, embodying courage and resilience. They never wavered in their commitment, standing firm in the face of adversity. With their sacrifice, they defended Kirkuk, the sacred city of Kurdistan, against the threat of ISIS.
They are immortal symbols of the Kurdish struggle, representing the unwavering spirit of the PUK and its commitment to the dignity and freedom of our people.
The PUK and their comrades will forever remember them in the deepest honour, ensuring their legacy endures. We will never forget them and remain steadfast in following their noble path to safeguard our people.
Honour to their families, and eternal glory to the souls of the martyrs—brother Sherko Fatih Shwani, brother Hussein Mansour, their comrades, and all the martyrs of Kurdistan.
